Emerson Logistics Operations and Mode Team Analyst in CIUDAD DE MEXICO, Mexico

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Global Mode Team Analyst will be supporting the Global and European Ground Team Leaders in multiple tasks including but not limited to:

Running E-sourcing global/mega bids:

  • Perform analytics from data collection, scrubbing, compilation and/or data standardization

  • Lead Carrier Training related to e-Sourcing activities on Ariba’s Platform

  • Perform saving analysis and present summary of findings and/or recommendation to the Team Leader

  • Support Team Leader in preparing and monitoring year over year e-sourcing plan, bid savings, and projecting forward net inflation

  • Perform market research on spot market pricing, capacity/equipment, peak season, etc that will guide Team Leaders formulate a sound strategic plan in response to the latest market condition

  • Generate reports consistent with metrics provided by the logistics team

Perform operational activities such as:

  • Assist Team Leader in compiling pricing exhibits upon e-sourcing award

  • Work with Global Contract Management Team to finalize contract with awarded carriers

  • Rate loading into Emerson’s Supply Chain Optimization (SCO) system after bid is awarded

  • Send finalized contracted rates to Audit and Freight Payment Provider (CASS)

  • Coordinate and manage rate request related activities (spot or long term rate) between Emerson business units, carriers and SCO Support team

  • Support SCO Operational and Audit Pay Teams in any rates or carriers related inquiries

Run weekly and monthly carrier’s reports.

  • Develop standard reporting and metrics in line with the existing program metrics

  • Weekly Reporting on Carriers Metrics

  • Coordinate recurrent calls with the carriers in order to improve the KPI’s

  • Maintain and update providers’ scorecards on monthly basis

Assist in the communication of the program solutions internally (Emerson teams) and externally (Emerson’s Service Providers).

  • Send out award letters to carriers

  • Communicate SOP and guidelines

  • Help communicate bid award to ground mode team members

  • Update routing guides for Risk Assessment purposes

EDUCATION:

BS Degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field with at least 2 years professional experience in Project Management or Business Analyst role.

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:

  • Strong computer and analytical skills. Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerPoint

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (English – both verbal and written)

  • Minimum two years in international logistics

  • Understands the pricing dynamics of the freight forwarding industry

  • Understands basic concepts of supply chain

  • Experience in a procurement role or with online sourcing systems is a plus

  • Ability to work independently

  • Comfortable interacting with staff across globally diverse businesses and multiple functional areas

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Supply chain; logistics; or transportation industry experience is highly desirable

  • Familiar with Transportation Management System (TMS); Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is a plus

  • Ability to multi-task and work in multi-disciplinary teams
