Job Summary :

The Administrative Intern will have the opportunity to learn more about healthcare governance, organizational practices, laws and regulations related to the healthcare industry, as well as developing business skills such as accounting, financial management, and process improvement. They will also gain exposure to departmental operations, which may include hospital rotations and projects. Looking to understand the challenges facing today’s healthcare delivery systems? An internship at Roper St. Francis Healthcare will provide you with invaluable insight into the workings of our integrated, not-for-profit healthcare system.

Minimum Qualifications :

Education : Currently enrolled in a graduate program in a relevant field (e.g., Healthcare Administration, Business Administration) with a graduation date later than August 2024

  • Current graduate student at an accredited college with a graduation date later than August 2024.

  • Master’s level student pursuing a Master of Health Administration degree (MHA, MHSA, MBA)

  • Strong academic performance with a minimum current GPA of 3.5

  • Demonstrated interest in healthcare and healthcare administration

Experience: Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Previous internship or work experience in healthcare or related fields is advantageous

Licensure/Certification: NA

Knowledge/Skills: Ability to use computer programs. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Requires the ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions. Must have strong attention to detail and able to perform data entry with high accuracy. Willingness to learn and ask questions to enhance the development process.

Other: Intern expectations include self-directed learning; independently seeking learning opportunities and feedback, problem-solving thinking, and adaptability. Readiness to learn from all experiences.

This role is onsite in Charleston, SC

This position will run from June-August and is temporary

Work Demands/Environment :

Frequent sitting at desk/computer. Intermittent walking, standing, stooping, bending. May require lifting or moving items up to 25 lbs. Frequent use of finger/hand dexterity. Constant talking or hearing. Corrected hearing and vision to normal range. Minimal risk of exposure to blood, body fluids or tissue. Possible exposure to infectious materials, communicable diseases and/or other conditions common to a healthcare environment.
