We are looking for a talented Technician to join our team specializing in Parts Management for our Cummins Marine Center in Charleston, South Carolina.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Coordinates and manages the product requirements and product change management processes to ensure that specification documents (e.g. drawing, structure, standards and software) are clear, concise and valid across the organization.

  • Works under minimal supervision.

  • Conducts audits of product specification documents (e.g. drawing, structure, standards, and software) and ensures adherence to Product Release standards.

  • Provides information and education (as necessary) to stakeholders regarding standards and rules for documenting Cummins product specifications, including engineering, marketing, services, and manufacturing processes.

  • Identifies internal stakeholders to solve queries and ensures compliance with product requirements.

  • Develops and implements practices and work instructions for the product requirements and change management processes.

  • Trains and supports less experienced Documentation Controllers.

  • Leads and/or participates in basic and/or complex improvement projects linked to the product requirements and related change management processes.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Drives results - Consistently achieving results, even under tough circumstances.

  • Data Acquisition - Prepares samples, verifies equipment calibration, and performs tests according to an approved standard procedure or work instruction in a manner which ensures, and results in, data that can be trusted and delivered to the engineer or customer.

  • Data Reporting - Prepares documentation in a manner which clearly organizes and presents testing methods, instrument settings, the data and analysis to allow the engineer and customer to understand the results and form accurate conclusions and recommendations.

  • Training Delivery - Instructs learners in a manner that engages and adjusts to individual and group needs resulting in knowledge, skills and abilities that can be applied on the job.

  • Product Configuration and Change Management - Establishes a baseline of identified product artifacts to be placed under configuration management; releases, tracks, controls, and communicates changes from concept to obsolescence often through work requests; establishes and maintains the integrity of the product artifact baselines.

  • High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience is required.

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

  • Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience in documentation and control, engineering discipline or related field.

  • Key support role for the Product Introduction Coordinator, supporting both Readiness and Design Integration activities, with the main responsibilities:

1.Populate available Readiness Tracker, maintain, monitor, & provide timely, regular reports. Ensure all parts are available at plants by MRD (Materials Readiness Date).

2.Present Readiness Meetings.

3.Order & Receive parts through Ariba.

4.Support supplier readiness discussions.

5.Support plant process readiness discussions.

6.Maintain build plans.

7.Communicate with suppliers; confirming orders received, on schedule, & ship dates.

8.Escalate issues to the Product Introduction Coordinator where appropriate.

9.Support the Design Integrator, and eventually write deviations to support builds and/or Change Request (CR) in Windchill.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
