If you are energized by providing best-in-class customer experiences and strive for advanced technical skills, we want to speak with you.We are seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to design, program and test the electrical control systems for warehouse distribution systems specifically focused on sortation and conveyor systems. Role and Responsibilities:•Review customer scope documents to determine controls requirements, electrical component requirements and wiring requirements.•Assist sales and estimating with design requirements and cost.•Create field layout, panel layout and electrical schematics/wiring diagrams for controls systems in AutoCAD Electrical.•Write PLC programs in ladder logic (Allen-Bradley, Keyence, Phoenix, Siemens).•Knowledge and experience with PLC capability, programming, and HMI programming for: 1.Allen Bradley Micro2.Compact Logix3.Motion Control including Servo control4.Motor control with VFD’s5.Fieldbus Communications•Follow and maintain internal coding standards.•Modify existing programs.•Develop HMI interfaces.•Participate in design reviews and creating field layout drawings in AutoCAD electrical.•Maintain records/repository of programs, schematic drawings, and onsite modifications to field layout.•Work collaboratively with other departments as well as independently. •Provide technical support and troubleshooting for field issues as well as installation and service departments.•Travel to customer sites to perform I/O checkout and field startup.•Prioritizing needs and tasks while being responsive and flexible to project requests.•Develop user manuals and provide training to clients.•Visualizing processes to ensure a system is operating to its full potential.•Providing customer service and technical support through various means of communication.Desired Characteristics•Maintains excellent communication with engineering and sales teams to ensure proper follow-up, leading to strong customer satisfaction.•Identifies, analyzes, and understands problems in his/her daily work and provides the best solution for the client.•Delivers sustainable results, stays focused on deliverables in challenging situations and overcomes obstacles.•Flexible to adapt to same-day and next-day changes to project scope and location.•A commitment to engineering excellence.•Effectively communicate and partner with teammates and colleagues.•Efficient time management and organizational skills.•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.•Accountable to their clients and teammates.•Willing to teach and train greener associates.Technical Knowledge and Skills•Experience in programming PLC’s using Ladder Logic or experience with programming in any other scripting language such as Python, JavaScript, or VBA. •Proficient in electro-mechanical systems with basic manual and power tool operation.•Understanding of network topology and communications methods; ethernet, serial and wireless communications.•Proficient with AutoCAD Electrical.•Troubleshoot wiring, PLC code and machine functionality.•Demonstrates knowledge of organization's business practices and issues and contributes to problem resolution of those issues.•Ability to lead programmers and wiring personnel.•Good understanding of the application of material handling equipment preferred.Qualification Requirements•Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or any other relevant field of study or experience.•3 years’ experience working with the application of material handling solutions preferred.•Proficient in AutoCAD •PLC Programming (Allen Bradley)•Willingness to travel to customer locations to manage commissioning and testing of the machines, as well as provide in-house and on-site technical training for other employees, subcontractors, and customers.
