    Job Description

HUMAN RESOURCES (HR) REPRESENTATIVE, Center for Transportation & Logistics (CTL), to act as a point of contact for and perform a variety of tasks and transactions in support of human resources. Responsibilities include preparing a variety of appointment transactions for all employee categories and visiting students; coordinating visa paperwork/documentation; supporting a variety of processes, including compensation reviews, salary reviews, and employee relations; responding to general inquiries regarding personnel policies; supporting the implementation of internal training programs; supporting the administrative needs of the HR administrator and director of administration and finance; assisting with posting requisitions through PeopleFluent; scheduling search committee activities, e.g., rooms, Zoom calls, catering, interviews, etc.; database and file maintenance; preparing and distributing reports; assisting with event planning; and other duties as assigned. Job Requirements

REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; three years’ administrative or human resources experience, preferably in an academic environment; meticulous attention to detail; excellent organizational, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills; tact, diplomacy, and discretion with confidential information; initiative; excellent spelling, punctuation, and grammar; and strong Microsoft Office skills. Must be able to proactively anticipate issues and complications before they arise and the needs of direct managers and other stakeholders; distill, interpret, and convey complicated administrative processes to the CTL community; manage a high volume of work and variety of concurrent tasks, meet deadlines without compromising quality, and resolve problems in a thorough and timely manner; remain flexible as situations demand; and work independently under minimal supervision. PREFERRED: bachelor’s degree, experience working with HR and payroll systems (e.g., SAP, Cognos), and experience at MIT or in higher education. Job #23990-45/20/24
