Your Day to Day

As a Senior Data Governance Engineer you would be working on

  • Defining, designing, and implementing policies, standards, guidelines, tools, metrics and standards for data management and governance framework

  • Identify the sensitivity and criticality of the data. Ensure that appropriate business processes are in place to keep the data secure, maximize data accuracy.

  • Own data architecture standards including data lineage, data modeling, and metadata management.

  • Publish and continually enhance the Data Catalog.

  • Identify areas of improvement in local practices relative to managing data privacy.

  • Coordinate with the data security, privacy, and legal teams to ensure compliance and hygiene (like SOX Audit, GDPR etc..).

  • Grant access privileges to authorized data users, documenting those with access and controlling level of access to ensure that individuals have access only to that information for which they have been authorized and that access is removed in a timely fashion when no longer needed.

  • End-to-end responsibility for the delivery of data self-services constituting governance (e.g., glossary, data inventory, metadata management...) their effectiveness & efficiency in delivering the objective, their adoption in the business and for the end-user satisfaction of our data users.

  • Promote data literacy and develop training, awareness, and adoption of Data Governance discipline across all functions

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science or related field is preferred, with 6+ years of directly related work experience.

  • Well versed in data governance practices, including data governance program lifecycles, data stewardship and usage practices, metadata, lineage, UAT and data quality management within the organization.

  • Expert at data protection management practices and regulations.

  • Knowledge of data related government regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues.

  • Experience in implementing privacy and data compliance practices and procedures within organizations.

  • Experience of handling data issues in a global environment, including data lifecycle and maintenance processes.

  • Extensive knowledge of quality management systems, methodologies, and principles.

  • Extensive knowledge of data management methodologies, techniques, tools, and best practices.

  • Technical expertise in SQL, Basic of Python, big data, data warehousing, analytics, and data science related technologies including data lakes, ETL.

  • Detailed exposure to data modelling concepts.

  • Confident and credible in dealing with internal and external stakeholders with the ability to build lasting and strong relationships.

  • Excellent Analytical, Interpersonal, communication and presentation skills are essential, with strong verbal and writing proficiencies.

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Approaches problems with curiosity and open-mindedness
