Arbor Research Collaborative For Health Data Scientist / Statistical Programmer in Ann Arbor, Michigan

Arbor Research Collaborative for Health seeks a Data Scientist / Statistical Programmer proficient in Python, /R and SAS to join our data management team.  The ideal candidate will have experience working with large scale data, as well as with SQL-based technologies working with relational, hierarchical or other data models.  Additionally, this candidate with be familiar with statistical procedures.  A bachelor's degree with a minimum two years progressively more responsible programming experience is required for this position.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain data architecture and processing systems from a variety of data sources. Develop robust and scalable solutions that transform data into a useful format for analysis, enhance data flow, and enable end users to consume and analyze data faster and easier. 
  • Work with tools, languages, data processing platforms, and databases such as Python, R, SQL, Spark, Hive, Databricks, SAS, and/or MS SQL Server 
  • Work with structured and unstructured data from a variety of data stores, such as data lakes, relational database management systems, and/or data warehouses 
  • Produce innovative solutions driven by exploratory data analysis from complex and high-dimensional datasets 
  • Utilize problem solving skills to investigate data errors and questions, troubleshoot code, track down resources, and translate data requirements 
  • Design, implement, and maintain repeatable data processes in a production environment, including system development lifecycle and version control 
  • Respond to ad hoc data requests.  
  • Collaborate with clients, analytical teams, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into an implementation Derive requirements from both technical and non-technical sources.  
  •  Create data visualizations, dashboards, and reports to communicate findings to a variety of technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Conduct training

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with minimum two years progressively more responsible programming experience demonstrated by: 

  • Python, /R, and SAS experience working with large scale data  
  • SQL-based technologies working with relational, hierarchical, or other data models 
  • Familiarity with statistical procedures 

Demonstrated ability to write code that is clearly readable and efficient 

Demonstrated ability to ensure data integrit
