The Opportunity :

This position works out of our Alameda, CA location in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division, where we are focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology.

Our location in Alameda, CA, currently has an opportunity for a Technical Project Manager (on-site).

The Technical Project Manager leads a cross functional team in the development of new products. This person works closely with project management as a technical project manager. They will find solutions to complex product development problems. They are also responsible for developing working relationships with cross functional groups, vendors and senior/executive management. #software.

What you’ll work on:

  • Provide technical direction/advisor to project teams.

  • Lead/perform product definition, system architecture, product test and evaluation, System V & V, and/or design control documentation.

  • Lead the development of design processes.

  • Lead, design and conduct system level characterization/verification of complex systems; collect, organize, analyze, and document test results.

  • Responsible for project planning, managing resources, the creation of project schedules and budgets.

  • Lead integration of analytical and performance related elements with software, hardware, and electronics system Components

  • Communicate effectively and participate on cross functional development teams with good negotiating skills to direct multidisciplinary teams toward solutions.

  • Responsible for utilizing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.

  • Lead a cross-functional engineering teams developing new products or processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physical science or equivalent.

  • Minimum 7 years Product development experience in Engineering or physical science.

  • Experience in embedded medical device development

  • Extensive experience in general engineering/science principals and laboratory skills.

  • Extensive experience of contemporary design control and risk management practices.

  • Strong knowledge of defined development process that is consistent with ISO, FDA design control standards or requirements.

  • Experience managing compliance testing to EMC, safety, radio and other regulatory standards.

  • Expertise in the electro-mechanical, software, mathematical, biomedical engineering.

  • Ability to work on many subjects concurrently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree a plus.

The base pay for this position is $95,500.00 – $190,900.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
